The grease factor

My husband and I have recently ventured out into the world looking for new dinning experiences. We found several Mom and Pop style restaurants which can be hidden treasures from the mass of foodies in our State, but the last two were very good with the same bad exception missing vegetables. If there were any vegetables they were fried. The fruit offered was in a fried pie.

I have to say that after leaving both establishments I felt greasy all over, and my clothes smelled. There was also salt used in cooking the dish – a lot I might add. I am still thirsty. At the end of the evening I felt sluggish and foggy.

All I can think about is what I did to my body. The catfish could have been grilled instead of fried. I should have skipped the hush puppies and the fries and had slaw instead.

The point is I should have made better choices. The American Heart Association has published staggering statistic on heart disease and for the most part being is being ignored.

We all need to be making bette choices because it just feels better. I workout and eat better not to prevent what I cannot control, but so that when something does happen to me or my family I am better equipped to handle the problem.

Think about that for awhile ….  there is more.
